Quattro® mini alignerscrew

Our quattro® mini alignerscrew

Aligners are on everyone’s lips these days and are enjoying ever-growing popularity. Aligners are often combined with orthodontic mini-screws in order to increase their treatment effectiveness when implementing physical tooth movements and thus achieve even better predictability of the therapy results. The new quattro® mini aligner screw from PSM was developed precisely for this purpose of temporary skeletal anchoring to overcome clinical limitations during aligner therapy.

The mini screw made of titanium was developed in cooperation with the Italian orthodontist Dr. Nicola Derton specially developed to be combined with aligners. Based on the design of the popular quattro® mini, the new quattro® mini aligner screw has a higher head. It is also equipped with a larger diameter (2.3 mm) to increase primary stability.

It can be inserted both in the upper jaw (infrazygomatic area) and in the lower jaw (in the ascending branch, ramus mandibulae) and can be used for selective movement of individual teeth (e.g. for intrusion or distalization of individual molars).

The same instruments can be used to insert the new quattro® mini aligner screw as are already used for the previous quattro® mini’s. However, the design of the storage container is brand new. The quattro® starter container now offers even more options for accommodating the instruments required for clinical use, consisting of short and long screw holders, drills, screwdriver handles and the respective screws, ready to hand at all times. Also new is the lid design of the container, which lists all screws of the quattro® system with the corresponding order numbers to make it easier to reorder.
